I was asked last month to come aboard on a new film that is being filmed here on the Sunshine Coast. It is about the life of a local young man who has downs syndrome. Entering the project only briefly aware of the details I was more than happy to provide my services as needed. Now, almost a month on I have become part of an amazing team of people who have worked day and night to make possible what is going to be a heartwarming and I believe successful film for all ages.

I have been working very closely with the leading Lady Julie Dickson (Actress, model and producer) who has not only displayed an absolute stellar performance every take but has also managed to build a wonderful relationship with Ty Belnap (who the story is about) which keeps him and everybody else grounded and focused on the job at hand. It has been my absolute pleasure to be working with her and the team and I can’t wait for it’s arrival next February. Find it on facebook-   just like you feature film- and become a fan!

I attended the launch of the new Sunshine Coast Brides magazine last night at Noosa’s Waterfront Restaurant. I am excited to have my work showcased over several pages of this years issue, myself and Evalyn really stepped up the mark with some hot new and exclusive looks. I look forward to working with the new bride’s that it will bring!

Last Sunday was one of the biggest days of the year for me and my husband. Not only did I have the pleasure of doing my best and dearest friends weddings but also played the important role of being Maid of honour (and Best Man for my Husband) at Corinne and David’s wedding. It was quite a large production with 5 Bridesmaids, Evalyn Parsons and her team of course had our hair looking fantastic. Corinne had every little detail so beautifully organised it was perfect. It was an amazing day from start until finish being part of all the emotions and the fun made for a day I will never forget. .

Sunshine Coast Bride’s magazine made it’s introduction in 2008 (as an offset to Queensland Brides) and it has had huge support and success over the past year. As I am a supplier and advertiser in the magazine I have had the pleasure of working with the team to work through the motions of the creative side of the production. Last year My work was chosen for the front cover (pictured) of the 2008 edition after a day of producing some amazing looks alongside other coast suppliers they were shot for the magazine providing all Brides from the Sunshine Coast with some wonderful inspiration. This year in June once again I was given the opportunity to take part for next years publication and even though we are not able to see any of our amazing work until it is released in December, if last years is anything to go by then I am extremely excited for this years launch as it is going to be amazing! Even though I am in the peak wedding time right now I have been thinking that it is time I catch up with some of the exciting things that have happened this year. One of them being back in May, the Abia Awards. I had the pleasure of attending as I had been nominated again this year. The Abia’s are an industry award that recognises excellence within the wedding industry across Australia for all wedding suppliers and services. Votes are provided by Bride’s and there are several categories in which each supplier is scored on. In 2008 I came 2nd in Qld for Bridal Make up Artist of the year. This year being even closer if you can believe a tenth of a percent! I managed to secure 2nd again in Qld. The winner being from Brisbane sees retrospectively that Kim Image Specialist as the top supplier for Bridal Make up on the Sunshine Coast, something I am very proud and pleased with. With scores being so close in all categories this year it just goes to show the quality of suppliers that are dominating the field now. Evalyn Parson’s backed it up again winning Bridal hairdresser of the year for the second year in a row. Congratulations Ev and well done for the Sunny Coast!

Jo and Kevin’s wedding was held at Clio’s Palmwoods on Saturday 20th June. Jo is one of the lovliest people you will ever meet, she got ready at her home in nambour with Evalyn Parson’s doing  great  job on the hair and Calli B for photos.

Melanie got married to Paul at the Crowne Plaza Resort on the 11th April, I arrived to find her a little black and blue on her right eye after her dog accidentally head butted her! not the best timing but with some ultra good concealing and a few champagnes for Mel to calm the nerves we pulled it off, as you can see by the photos Calli B photographed it beautifully, no black eye in sight!
